We packed John into our little VW Golf along with the four of us and trekked down to Big Bear, California to attend a Foxwell-Serles family reunion. My grandmother and all her siblings were there. All my aunts and uncles on my dad's side except Aunt Dorothy made it. And all of my brothers and sisters were there with their kids and partners. I think there were about 60 people here yesterday.

A week before the event, I asked my dad if there would be a family tree poster on the wall. He said "I got all that in the book." But I wanted something kids could look at and follow the lines and see graphically how they are connected to all the other people there. My dad sent me several multi-page pdfs and in the end I compiled together one of the Foxwell Side and one of the Serles Side into one big ten foot poster. But when I found out how much it was going to cost to print a ten foot poster, I embarked on a project to cut out and paste in place 118 photos and names in place on a ten foot roll of poster paper with all the connecting lines.

Kite and Mariner connected really well with their cousin Alan, spending a lot of time around the pool table. Kite was also excited about the amount of sweets offered. He says he had 13 deserts.
